Venezuelan violinist triumphed in Detroit

Venezuelan violinist Rubén Rengel obtained the first place in the 21st annual Sphinx Contest, in the Senior Division, held in Detroit, United States.

The 22-year-old won 50 million dollars to win this triumph and, at the same time, he will have the opportunity to perform several concerts. The second and third place was obtained by the Americans Gabriel Martins (cello) and Randall Goosby (violin), respectively. The latter also received the audience award.

In the Junior Division, the winner was the cellist Levi Powe, and the second and third place were obtained by the violinists Sophia Ayer and Sophia Ines Valenti.
